About the Course

The Impact Evaluation and Evidence-Based Development Training Course equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to design, implement, analyze, and communicate impact evaluations for development policies, projects, and programmes. The course focuses on generating credible evidence about whether an intervention works, for whom, under what conditions, and why.Through practical exercises, case studies, datasets, and group activities, participants will learn how to develop evaluation questions, construct theories of change, select indicators, design evaluation strategies, assess data quality, interpret findings, and draw evidence-based conclusions. The workshop also emphasizes using evaluation findings for programme improvement, policy development, resource allocation, accountability, learning, and scaling successful interventions. Participants will explore approaches for communicating evaluation results effectively to policymakers, programme managers, donors, communities, and other stakeholders.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to develop and apply appropriate impact evaluation approaches to generate credible, actionable, and policy-relevant evidence for improved development decision-making.
