The Food Security, Nutrition and Resilient Food Systems Training Course provides participants with practical knowledge and skills to understand, assess, and address food insecurity and malnutrition within the Kenyan context. The course examines the availability, accessibility, affordability, utilization, and stability of nutritious food and their implications for households and communities.
Through case studies, practical exercises, group discussions, and scenario analysis, participants will learn how to identify food security and nutrition challenges, assess vulnerable populations, develop appropriate interventions, and integrate nutrition considerations into agricultural and development programmes.
The course also emphasizes policy, programme planning, monitoring and evaluation, stakeholder coordination, community participation, gender-responsive approaches, and resilience building.
