About the Course
Technology and Innovation in Disaster Resilience is a forward-looking training course designed to equip disaster management professionals, emergency responders, policymakers, technology leaders, and resilience practitioners with the knowledge required to harness emerging technologies and innovative approaches to strengthen disaster preparedness, response, recovery, and long-term resilience.Participants will explore how technology can improve hazard monitoring, risk assessment, early warning, emergency communication, resource allocation, damage assessment, search and rescue coordination, humanitarian logistics, and post-disaster recovery. The programme also considers the challenges associated with technology adoption, including data privacy, cybersecurity, digital inequality, interoperability, infrastructure limitations, and ethical considerations.Through case studies, technology demonstrations, scenario-based exercises, and innovation workshops, participants will develop practical strategies for integrating technology into disaster resilience frameworks and designing innovative, scalable, and inclusive solutions for disaster risk reduction.
