About the Course
The Climate-Smart Agriculture and Resilient Farming Training Course equips participants with practical knowledge and skills to improve agricultural productivity, strengthen resilience to climate change, and reduce the environmental impact of farming.Participants will explore climate-smart approaches relevant to Kenyan farming systems, including drought-resilient crops, improved livestock management, soil health, water conservation, rainwater harvesting, efficient irrigation, agroforestry, crop diversification, conservation agriculture, integrated crop-livestock systems, and sustainable land management. The training also covers climate risk assessment, climate information services, early warning systems, climate-resilient value chains, post-harvest management, agricultural finance, market access, and livelihood diversification. Participants will learn how to assess farm-level climate risks and select appropriate adaptation and resilience measures. The course emphasizes food security, sustainable livelihoods, resource efficiency, ecosystem conservation, farmer innovation, and inclusive agricultural development, with particular attention to the needs of smallholder farmers, women, and youth.
