About the Course
This comprehensive training course equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to promote sustainable land use, restore degraded landscapes, strengthen rural livelihoods, and build resilience to climate and environmental pressures. It explores integrated approaches to managing soil, water, vegetation, agricultural land, rangelands, and natural resources while balancing environmental protection with socioeconomic development.Participants will examine sustainable land management principles, soil conservation, watershed management, climate-smart agriculture, land restoration, agroforestry, rangeland management, biodiversity conservation, drought resilience, and community-based natural resource management. The course emphasizes practical strategies for reducing land degradation, improving productivity, protecting ecosystems, and strengthening the resilience of rural communities.
Through case studies, field-based scenarios, and practical exercises, participants will learn how to assess land degradation risks, develop sustainable land management plans, engage local communities, integrate climate adaptation measures, and monitor environmental and livelihood outcomes.
