About the Course

Resilience Building in Fragile and Conflict-Affected Settings is a strategic training course designed to equip humanitarian professionals, development practitioners, government officials, peacebuilding specialists, and community leaders with practical approaches for strengthening individual, community, institutional, and societal resilience in environments affected by conflict, fragility, displacement, political instability, and recurring crises.Key themes include conflict and context analysis, resilience assessment, adaptive programming, social cohesion, community engagement, institutional capacity, humanitarian-development-peace approaches, climate and disaster risks, livelihood resilience, protection, early warning, and recovery planning. The programme emphasizes working effectively in complex environments while avoiding approaches that may unintentionally reinforce conflict or inequality.

Through case studies, scenario exercises, stakeholder analysis, and practical resilience planning activities, participants will develop the ability to design and implement sustainable resilience-building strategies that strengthen local capacities, reduce vulnerability, support recovery, and contribute to long-term stability.
