About the Course
This course provides a foundational and practical methodology for the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, shifting the focus from identifying community deficits to mobilizing existing strengths, skills, and resources. Participants learn how to map the diverse capacities of residents, local associations, and institutions, effectively empowering communities to drive their own sustainable change and development initiatives. The training emphasizes the importance of building genuine relationships and promoting local ownership over projects, leading to more resilient, inclusive, and enduring outcomes than traditional needs-based models. It equips practitioners with tools for uncovering the hidden assets within their communities and converting those assets into collective action and economic vitality.
